FAQ

Clear answers before a lender demo.

These questions cover the operating role, data migration, data ownership, AI boundaries, borrower consent, repayment, setup, and CDS preparation.

Is Covenant Desk a lender?

No. Covenant Desk is lending operations software. Participating lenders provide actual terms and make all lending decisions.

We already use Softmedia. What happens to our data?

It comes across. Covenant Desk Lending has its own database and becomes the system your team works in, so your borrower, loan and notice records are imported rather than retyped, and the two can run side by side while you move at your own pace.

How does cross-company access work?

Company visibility is scoped by role, staff level, and allowed company units. Exact-HKID borrower lookup is permission-scoped and audit-logged.

Who owns borrower data?

The lender owns its borrower and loan records. Covenant Desk acts as the software and operating layer configured for the lender's workflow.

What does AI do?

AI can summarize borrower risk, answer database-backed questions, extract email/document intake, and support prompt-controlled review. AI outputs are decision-support tools for human review.

How does borrower consent work?

Marketplace and request flows capture selected-lender consent so request data is routed only to lenders the borrower chose.

Can we start portal-only?

Yes. Many lenders begin with management portal and repayment operations, then add borrower app, intake, AI, and reporting workflows later.

How do FPS repayments work?

The borrower sees a lender-specific FPS QR and reference code, pays through their own bank app, and staff reconcile the received payment against the intent.

What do plans include?

Plans map to connection, operations, and platform scope. The checkout and package pages show setup fees, monthly guide amounts, and workflow inclusions.

What happens after checkout?

The buyer receives a receipt and activation link. Setup then confirms entities, source systems, users, modules, and first workflow priority.

What setup information is needed?

Bring company list, source-system details, staff roles, repayment workflow, borrower app needs, FPS receiving IDs, and current intake channels.

How are CDS records prepared?

Covenant Desk structures application, approved terms, and repayment records for lender export ahead of the rules proposed to take effect on 1 June 2027. Lenders remain responsible for submission and interpretation.
